Three sites you must use for sports PR

If you plan on working in sports, there are a few websites you will want to use to stay up to date in everything. Make sure you have profiles and actively used these three sites.

LinkedIn: If you don't have LinkedIn yet, I recommend downloading it and creating a profile as soon as possible. LinkedIn is a way for you to share your experience and skills. Hiring professionals often times look at LinkedIn profiles to gain more information about you, or to see if you have a presence online. Most companys have LinkedIn's to post press releases or any news about their company. This site is a great way to keep up on what the companies you are interested in are posting. LinkedIn is also a great way to make new connections. With a click of a button you can send a message and connect with someone on the site. I personally like using this feature to gain advice from those in the sports industry.

TeamWork: Teamwork is the best place to learn about all the available jobs in sports. Out of every job posting website I have ever used, TeamWork is by far the most up to date and has the most postings for sports (considering it's for sports related jobs and internships only). Teamwork makes it easy for you to filter what type of job you are looking for. The website will also keep track of any jobs you save and any jobs you have previously applied for.

PR Newswire: PR Newswire is a very important website to utilize if you would like to keep up to date on current press releases. This site is used by companies to post current press releases. Journalists and PR professionals use Newswire to look at press releases and gain info about current news related to different companies.

Staying up to date on what's going on the sports world is very important. Even if the news is not related to your own team, it could be related to the industry as a whole. If you needed to get information from a newsworthy event related to a sports company or team, where would be the first place you would look for this information?
