WHY I CHOSE SPORTS

When you hear the word sports, what comes to mind? For me, its my high school golf career, or my soccer team in 1st grade, even going to my first ever basketball game.

The idea of sports can mean different things to different people, but one thing we can all agree on is that we all have a connection to sports in some way. This connection may be financially, socially, or physically.

I chose to work in sports because it is something that I can relate to. Coming from a background where I played a new sport every year, I have learned or played so many sports I couldn't even count them on one hand.

When I attended my first NFL Football game, something inside my clicked and I knew that I would be working in sports one day. The energy of the fans, and the connections to every part of the experience was something I wanted to be a part. After working for Oregon as an intern, I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. I know that no matter what venture I take I will love experiencing a new journey. I think most people who want to work in sports don't know exactly what they want to do, it could be an idea but you never really know until you've done it. I hope this blog can shed light on that and help give some more knowledge about sports PR specifically!
